ROOT

Root directory of the file system.

BIT_BUCKET

Bit bucket. Any data written to this file is discarded.

followSymlink

public static Path followSymlink(Path path)

Follow every symlink in every component of given file recursively, just like readlink -f does.

Parameters:

file - path in which symlinks are to be followed

Returns:

canonical file

getCwd

public static File getCwd()

Return process current working directory.

Returns:

current working directory

linkOrCopy

public static void linkOrCopy(Path source,
              Path target)
                       throws IOException

Create hard link or copy file if creating hard link is not possible.

Parameters:

source - source file

target - link target or destination file

Throws:

IOException - if any I/O exception occurs

createAnonymousSymlink

public static Path createAnonymousSymlink(Path target)
                                   throws IOException

Create a temporary symbolic link pointing to specified target path.

Parameters:

target - target of the symbolic link

Returns:

path to created symlink

Throws:

IOException - if any I/O exception occurs

chmod

public static void chmod(Path path,
         int mode)
                  throws IOException

Set file permissions, just like chmod(2).

Parameters:

path - path to file to change permissions of

mode - permissions in integer format

Throws:

IOException - if an I/O exception occurs

replaceFileWithSymlink

public static void replaceFileWithSymlink(Path file,
                          Path target)
                                   throws IOException

Try to atomically replace regular file with a symbolic link. If atomic replacement is not supported then try to replace the file anyways, hoping that race condition doesn't occur.

Parameters:

file - file to be replaced

target - symbolic link target

Throws:

IOException - if an I/O exception occurs
